The courts still need to weigh in on this. If you purchase a license to use the software, the company shouldn’t have the power to revoke that license without cause. The license should last as long as the copyright/patent/etc. does.

Or the 2nd obvious solution. Repealing the tax cuts that have occurred the last 25 years. They have added 10 trillion dollars to the deficit, and were just a giveaway to people that didn’t need the tax cuts.

Their competition (Nintendo and Steam) already don’t have physical media. Nintendo is moving towards 100% Game Key cards, and Steam is all downloads. Playstation could have used physical media as a competitive advantage, but decided against it for cost reasons. So now this is the end of gaming physical media. The game sizes are just way too large.
