Agreed. I think I’m fairly well read and I’ve worked through a decent number of philosophical texts, but I’ve never finished Walden.
Make more things.

The safest and most flexible option would be to configure the BIOS to not use the RAID controller and just “see” the drives as a regular JBOD, and then setup a ZFS RAID-Z1 array and configure your zvols, etc. in that instead. RAID-Z1 is functionally very similar to old-school RAID-5. There’s virtually no performance penalty with software RAID these days, and you’re eliminating the proprietary RAID controller as a single point of failure.

On the one hand, I understand the inherent limitations of pseudonymous social media and why a corporation and even end users might benefit from authoritative user identification.
On the other hand, oh hell no.
The Meta AI app is a Privacy Disaster.
I have a dedica and find it can be a little underpowered with an unpressurized basket (though the coffee looks so pretty). First thing I’d try is - without adjusting your grind - to back off to 8g to reduce the extraction time and see how it is.
If you’ve also had it for a while and have never descaled you should do that as well, even if the machine hasn’t bugged you about it yet.
As stupid as this sounds I think we (and really the media, but we know which side they’re on) should be doing this in F for US audiences. Saying “hey, it’s now 5°F hotter than it was in the 1970s” is more immediately meaningful — and the bigger number looks scarier too.
They’re not wrong…
Bummer, I was hoping it’d be Great Big Observatory given how silly some astronomy naming conventions are.
oh good point (and not entirely obvious).
Not like we can stop it. If it’s online and not behind some kind of auth it’s getting slurped.
Ah that makes sense. So federation implies copying essentially, and not merely linking. Thanks!
Yes, but you can medicate ADHD. There’s no entry in the DSM for brain rot (yet).
