In the past when I’ve had to migrate emails I’ll set up automatic forwarding for anything important like that. Then switch the services you can. Idk if something like that could work for you and it is admittedly a bit of a pain to keep track of. Could limit MS influence on your stuff though

Schools are often where abused kids are able to build trust with adults and actually talk about their home life. Sure there’s plenty the school should inform the parents of but some things could do serious damage. If they aren’t already, teachers should be getting training on when and how to make that judgement call

I personally really like the muted/flat look, gives the image an older feel to it. It’s like something you’d find in a box of old photos with no explanation, or a movie where people are driving through an area and you catch glimpses of slow paced life that they’re driving past, if that makes sense
