It’s almost like a bad judgment call to not ensure you understand the rules of your job.
One might even say if you don’t care about doing your job correctly that it shows a lack of proper judgment.
But what do I know, I’m just a worthless factory schmuck.
I really liked how Jon Stewart addressed Cheney’s endorsement.
He stared directly at the camera and said “Fuck off Cheney.”
Same goes for Bush. FUCK OFF BUSH. It would be an insult to have Bush or Cheney on “our” side. Goddamn war criminal, money grubbing, pieces of shit. Rest in piss when the time comes Bush.
Because to some their eternal purity is way more important than anything that could actually happen as a result of their actions. To throw your vote away in a protest that no party has ever cared about keeps your hands clean of any individual aspect of that party you don’t like and you can claim the moral high ground by “trying” to enact change, but at what cost to everything around you?
It’s like the cartoon of the people living in a cave after climate change ruins everything saying “at least for a short time we made a lot of money for shareholders.” except it would be “at least I didn’t vote for Genocide Joe.”
Exactly! And of all people an editor-in-chief pretty much rarely encounters the written word. That position and the entire industry around it aren’t exposed to words that often so it’s totally excusable.
What is the true, fundamental difference in world view between one who is conservative and one who is progressive?
One believes government can be leveraged to encourage/enact positive change, that a lot of people need to be coerced into doing what’s right (read: business owners) and that a population doesn’t need to reenforce or retain one race as their majority, that a diverse population breeds creativity and growth is inspired by such.
The other believes that government shouldn’t be responsible for anything other than the defense of the country, that the society of that nation is almost entirely decided by the race and culture of a given majority and that it should always remain as such. (Read: there’s your racism) and that might makes right (money = power. You gained that money however you did and therefore what you do with it is always morally correct.)
A hateful asshole only has hateful asshole things to say!? Color me surprised!
What color is that anyway?
I absolutely agree on that aspect. I myself am a “victim” of that mentality. I never “found” myself and have ended up uneducated and working in a factory. For that reason I see myself as completely worthless. When I used dating sites I’d skip over anyone with a solid profession as “they’d never settle for a worthless schmuck like me anyway, they deserve better and they know it.” So it actually ties multiple issues together.
The only difference is I don’t blame society, I blame myself for being pathetic.
But their issues with society aren’t the fault of society. They don’t measure up in whatever way, don’t aim to improve themselves, and then go and blame everyone else but themselves.
I say this as a perpetually single guy (a decade since my last relationship) who isn’t exactly an incel in the meaning of that term, but am in the literal “involuntary” part. I just recognize I’m the problem not changes in society.
And propagandists are exploiting that as well. They feel all their issues with the changes in dating and relationships in general are the fault of “the left” and women in general, there are no shortage of people waiting to jump on those points for their own financial and political gain.
I really wish she got to go after Trump… His ending statement/question was the absolute perfect opportunity to stress the importance of voting for more than just the president!
“Why haven’t you done all the things you say you want to yet?”
“People of the US: give me a Senate and House that will work with me and we can!”
It seemed like a mic drop for him but that’s only because people don’t understand all Republicans exist for is obstruction of democratic plans and to benefit the ownership class. Have a Republican lead House/Senate? You’ll get nothing meaningful.
it shows his speaking style hasn’t changed that much in 40 years.
Does it? My first thought was “who wrote this? Trump definitely doesn’t know some of those words” lol
It kinda reads like MLK you serve us, I like it lol
Not in the racist way! Like he worked on our behalf to help us lol
“Everyone says it, you know Trump really is a genius, they say it. I’ve read all the best books: the Hungry Caterpillar, Green Eggs and Ham, Goodnight Moon. I’m the biggest read person in the country. They say this. The Giving Tree. I hated that book, communist propaganda! Kambala probably wrote it.”
I don’t unfortunately. I hope I’m not blindly spreading misinformation but it was a comment from another user who was pushing back on the idea that vanguard supports Trump in any way. They were saying it was essentially what I said, just picked up by vanguard as it hit some high mark.
That and research/investigative journalism were the first things to get the axe after the major corporations bought most of the media outlets.
It’s just another money extraction device now
Don’t forget the poor poor desert soil he’s so concerned about… Lol yes noted conservationist Donald drill baby drill Trump…
Fermented then!
A-fucking-men.
The Green Party should be the RCV party and that should be their main focus. After that then they and any other party would actually stand a chance. Republicans are actively banning RCV from being implemented and Democrats are slow walking it, but we need to keep pushing.
