Fair enough, and I wish she was elected over Trump because she was the only other contender. But is she actually the best choice for 2028? The Democrats’ bench sucks, but there are still people I’d prefer over her (who could hopefully actually win a primary). I might take her over Newsome, though.

I mean, I do wish she was president right now because the world would be a better place. But that statement is also probably true of approximately 8 billion other people.

I am lucky enough to have a local vet that is excellent and caring and independently owned. When the owner wanted to retire a few years ago, several of the veterinarians pooled together to purchase it, so it wasn’t bought by a big company. My cat died earlier this year, but I will continue to donate to them even though I don’t have a pet right now.

All that being said, I’ve known two people who’ve worked at the VCA, and both are excellent. One (a vet tech) is still there and loves it and her manager is great, but the other left because she was overworked and underpaid (an actual veterinarian). In an ideal world, huge conglomerates wouldn’t buy out and jack up the prices of independent vets and then cut costs by stressing staff, but that doesn’t mean that the people working there aren’t caring and dedicated. Depends a lot on the specific location.

Sauron Denies Request for Contract Information

Reading a prepared statement from the tower of Barad-dûr, the Mouth of Sauron indicated today that the Dark Lord would not be complying with the demands of lawmakers to provide information on its contracts with the Trump Administration. The Messenger of Mordor further called the demands “ridiculous” and “unnecessary government intrusion into private affairs of Sauron, who does not answer to any higher authority, save that of his fallen master Morgoth.” Furthermore, the statement chastised the lawmakers for contacting Sauron through the Palantir, which he described as “an illegal privacy breach,” and said he planned to seek legal action for this invasion of his personal communications.
