Do they even know that??
Being good for a group of people is not the same as them knowing that you’ve been good for them. This is eternally where Democrats fall flat on their faces.

Democrats don’t just fall for bullshit identity politics, they eagerly lavish being drowned in it. And all the comments in here prove it.
It’s the economy stupid.
That phrase is just as true today, as it was some 30 years ago when it cost Bush Sr a second term. The worst part is that the economy isn’t even bad, rather people have been pulled down by endless doom and gloom talk for the last 2 years about how the economy is just weeks away from collapsing. And with all that negative talk, Dems haven’t bothered to ever go out there and counter it with positive messages. Shit, looking at the posts on Lemmy and the comments in here, these dipshits have been complicit in spreading that message.
EDIT: I’m putting my edit at the top of the post because it’s clear I’m dealing with people with rather limited comprehension. What you clowns fail to realize is that my post is a warning to the Democratic party because I, as a life long Democrat, see them as being utterly fucken lost in sharing their message for the future and in sharing their current successes to average Joe’s. Here, let me spell it out to you: this is not a pro-Republican post. Fuck every last thing about the GOP. Clearly, you buffoons can’t understand that concept. Yes, this administration has many successes, but what you are not understanding is that middle America doesn’t know that. That’s because Democrats are awful st reminding people what they’ve accomplished. They are terrible with communicating with people in terms of what their vision for the future is. Average Joe’s don’t follow the news all that closely. And they follow political news even less. They need to be endlessly reminded WHY Democrats are better for them, for their wallet, for the country and even the planet. There are accomplishments right now that Republicans fight tooth and nail to stop, and after they somehow got passed, those same Republicans went home and took credit for them. They did this with the infrastructure bill. How can they get away with that? Because Democrats don’t advertise their successes. Just the other day was a doom and gloom article on how so many Americans think the economy is in the toilet, when it really isn’t. The economy is legitimately good well, but perception is not because Democrats have lost the ability to send a message out to voters. The only time you see them on the news is when they are endlessly wasting time on nonsense social issues for groups that represent a few percentage points of the total population, all while the majority of folks are out there, looking around and wondering when are Democrats going to think about them. Clearly this is too complicated for some of you retards to understand.
Hey Democrats, keep pushing that bullshit social agenda and blindly focusing on tiny fringe minority groups, instead of taking care of economic issues, and this won’t be the last time a defection happens.
There are a whole lot of people who don’t see economic policies from the Dems and are sick and tired of seeing elected officials endlessly waste all their time and political capital on non-issues.
Focusing on what the pronoun du jour is will end up handing Trump a second term.
Amazing what Elon Musk single-handedly was able to accomplish.
give up
No. That’s not what companies do.
BMW and Mercedes were the “leaders” in milking their customers and thus they got the most bad press. All BMW is doing is waiting until more companies start doing this and the whole idea of subscriptions in the car business becomes normalized to the public.
Unless consumers continue to shun this concept and the press blasts these companies for trying to push this nonsense, it will make a comeback in the years to come. Unfortunately, I simply do not think consumers will look at their long-term interests. Its like telling gamers not to pre-order the hottest upcoming releases because it encourages companies to release buggy software… all the pleading in the world ends up falling on deaf ears. Same too, I believe, will happen in the car market.
This is how government should work. A government FOR the people.
This is the kind of pro-consumer news that I’ve become accustomed to hearing only about the EU. I realize this doesn’t stop ISPs from simply levying fees and only demands that they list them, but seeing an itemized list of where your money goes is a first step in realizing that you might be getting screwed.
They are laughing at you, not with you.
So much this! Can there really be only a dozen or so posts in a community as wide as cars? Like seriously? I must have some setting messed up.
Man, I really hope more traffic starts heading into some of the more niche communities because getting a new thread every day or there and getting 1 or 2 replies - if that - is not how you sustain a site.
Are there really that few people into cars or engineering or DIY stuff on Lemmy?! Where the fuck are my fellow car and tinkering nerds at? And no one does projects around the house? So few posts in some of the home owner communities as well.
KNOW THY ENEMY
I think this project is a terrible idea (no offense OP, since I can see this comes from a level of frustration). Simply burying your head in the sand does not make these people go away. It doesn’t stop their abuses of power. It doesn’t make them any less of a bunch of douchebags. We the public need to know what they do.
I have mixed feelings about recalls. On the surface, it sounds terrible that you have to bring your car in because something is wrong. Yeah, it is super annoying, but on the flip side a recall means the carmaker admits to finding an issue with your car and is willing to repair it. In the past, carmakers would just kind of gloss over things that were found to be defective and hope that it wasn’t a big enough problem to demand them do anything.
So no one wants a lot of recalls, obviously, but having no recalls always means that you are on the hook when something breaks because the carmaker doesn’t think it is a problem with their design.
They know to fall in-line because a strong Republican Party helps all of them, from the president, all the way down the line to locally elected candidates.
Why can’t Democrats see this?
