Thanks for the added detail. It was only the end result I saw. He got out in 90 right before Iran invaded Kuwait. It is unlikely he would have been deployed. He was Cobol programmer.

Its more than a grocery store. I knew a guy who was buying german VCRs in the late 80’s and early 90’s and shipping them home. The german machines didn’t have the copy protection circuit in them and would make perfect copies of any tape. The machines were all bought at cost from a US base’s PX.

The problem with intel. They never just keep going. They announce some new gpu/graphics product and when it falls short they don’t or wont stick with it. They abandon it and use it as a write off. They have done this multiple times and I have no reason to believe they will do anything different. The last time was just a few years ago and when sales and performance lagged they just quit.

Any government and crooks as well. Its been possible a lot longer than fifteen years.
Compromising computers with tech is nearly as old as computers themselves. The wireless aspect makes it more convenient but in no way is doing so new.

I don’t think he is dumb. He is without decency though. He doesn’t care who he hurts and I have no doubt he will hurt a lot of people in the future.

burying his losses.

I hope they torrent two hours of somebody’s ass with the name of her movie.

Head in the sand until dead in dirt. That is some solution.

Ol todd is just flumoxed. How many shitty things do they have to do to get people to forget about what the orange pedo rapist tumor has done?

All containers do that. Its nothing new just another implementation of the idea with its own idea about what is best. It only saves resources in the form of time if its a large scale operation and finally its just the last in a long line of similar solutions.

That fat lazy golf playing asshat has never had to work hard a day in his deranged life.

I am the token white guy where I work and none of my coworkers want to talk about it. They don’t want to protest. They think they are gonna be left alone. They are just one ICE encounter away from finding out but until then they will not step outside their bubble.

They all are waiting on someone to fix it. They wont do anything until it comes to their door. By then it will be way too late for most of us.

I’ve never even heard of NIX flakes before today. It looks like another soluion in search of a problem. I trust debian and I trust bare metal more than any container setup. I run multiple services on one machine. I currently have two machines to run all my services. No problems and no downtime other than a weekly update and reload. All crontabed, all automatic.
At work I have multiple services all running in KVM including some windows domain controllers. Also no problem and weekly full backups are a worry free. Only requiring me to checks them for consistency.
In short as much as people try to push containers they are only useful if you are dealing with more than few services. No home setup should be that large unless someong is hosting for others.

Its more than tone. They are just deaf dumb and stupid when it comes to what their users are saying.

As long as the least deserving in those companies still got their bonuses I 'm fine with that. /s

None. I run my services they way they are meant to be run. There is no point in containers for a small setup. Its kinda lazy and you miss out on how to install them.
It still has full support. That counts for a lot. Fly by night boards that quickly lose support are hardly ‘Affordable’
