Honestly, I think the 2nd biggest reason for the opposition to socialism, is change. People don’t like breaking habit, even if it is extremely bad for them. Better the demon you know, than a angel you don’t.

This is the strategy Trump has used throughout his entire life. That same trick might be supereffective against him, if political critters had the spine.

Wish I could talk bullshit and be paid for it…

If you are on iPhone, you can use Kagi’s Orion - it is based on Webkit, which is what Safari uses. I have uBlock Origin installed on that browser.

Chinese emperors often consumed mercury in pursuit of eternity. Zuck and friends want to print themselves onto silicon. Coincidence?

Feudalism v3.0, the fences to keep humans as livestock are going up. Can’t leave town without corporate’s permission.

Corrupt Bastard: “We will name it…Data Park.”

But can it run DOOM?

We got a rapist in office. Why should we give a shit about law, if it is solely in service to evil?

In a different timeline, we might have had Smedley Butler lining up Henry Ford and other magnates against a wall, without offering a final cigar.

It is only a couple years ago that I bought my first iPhone. I still hate it.

To run all sorts of cloud and internet traffic. Things like Youtube, Steam, Amazon Web Services, and so forth require a means to store, process, and transfer data. It is no different from the importance of industrial farms, warehouses, and factories. All of them are unpleasant but important, if we want a capable civilization.
In any case, the placement of a datacenter is the sort of thing that requires proper planning. Some water tables are better suited for sustaining the existence of a datacenter, while other water sources are key to ecosystems or communities. The problems with datacenters isn’t that they are datacenters, but rather their implementation is shoddy and shortsighted.

Good. While infrastructure like data centers is necessary, they should go through environmental and zoning considerations, alongside the consent of neighboring communities. The reckless construction of these places is also suspicious as fuck. Why do the wealthy need them NOW?
Personally, I feel that the rushing of datacenters is in service to Palantir, the ICE war machine, and the bunkers that the elite reside in.

It might explain his hand.

I suspect that the relatively small size of European nations has made it much easier for them to have coherent protestors. The politicians have to be in physical proximity to their constituents, which puts their skin on the line if people snap. Getting enough angry people to surround bad leaders is a key ingredient to a healthy democracy.

“Hypothetically, how far would a catapult throw a CEO?”

“AI” -> “CEO’s bonus”, when we put it through the translator.
Honestly, this is for the best. It means that when a civil war comes, The Neo Confederates would be relying upon unverified information for everything, and probably selectively ignore the useful parts.
