It’s ecofascism.

It’s ecofascism.

No facts or historical perspective here, only “both sides same” on .world

I’m really trying to think of a single upside to putting it in space. Unfiltered solar power, does that matter at all? Not that you would ever break even on the cost.

The Nazis were active for 25 years before WWII shattered them. The American Civil War lasted 4 years with a looong lead-in to the actual secession. The Coal Wars took 40 years.
We ain’t seen nuthin yet.

I didn’t say it made them safer, I said that it made the government scared.

Activists being assassinated by the government should tell you what the people in power are actually scared of. (It’s armed, organized resistance rather than one-day protests and email campaigns)

Freezing rain to me is water that freezes on impact, and it very quickly becomes a problem for trees and roofs and everything.

Center of what then? Stop dancing around it and justify your claimed position, because “centrism” sounds a lot like “I support economic policies that disenfranchise minorities but I don’t like to think of myself as a bigot, I just don’t like paying taxes.”

I’m younger than the US lying about being attacked in the Gulf of Tonkin and giving LBJ authority to bypass the Congressional declaration of war before fucking about with foreign countries, so no.

Publicly traded companies are always going to turn to shit, the “Spotify model” is just appeasing shareholders with infinite growth.

Solar power is not a feasible solution in all parts of the world, though, and large-scale storage is still very much an issue.

The comics were pretty good too.

Team Fortress was not an “extremely popular existing franchise” even among dedicated PC gamers. What the Orange Box did was let Valve experiment with marketing materials like the teaser videos for Portal and “Meet the Heavy.”

It’s not a mouth based video game.

We already require the President and Senate to agree to appoint a Justice. The problem there is the Senate gives each state equal representation with no regard to their population (this has been an issue since before the country was a country) and there’s absolutely no way that enough rural states are going to vote to change that system.

My favorite version is the gene-edited cats and accompanying folk song.

Just pointing out that some people may have mayors that are more symbolic than anything so it’s not unreasonable to assume the mayor of NYC is similar. I’m not disagreeing per se.

When I was in grade school we had multiple lessons on using Boolean search terms to find useful information. Google-fu used to mean something.

What a mayor does varies rather a lot between cities.
We have never held the same values through the territories. The Constitution is a series of compromises to keep the farmland and urban centers sort of happy. Stark moral differences have been in our blood since day 1; the expansion of slave states (ignoring the native genocide for now) lead to the annexation of Texas and the American Civil War. Nobody is ever held accountable, slavers and secessionists and fascists are allowed to hold political power because the entire house of cards that is the United States is and has always been barely held together through a shared willful ignorance.
