Yeah, games like Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart, Luigi’s Mansion, etc. are fun as hell and very polished. I can’t think of a single first-party Nintendo game that’s released riddled with bugs in recent memory, whereas the rest of the industry can’t say the same, excepting Sony’s first-party games.

Oh for sure, they’ve made some progress and there are a lot of D reps and senators who want to do much more, I didn’t mean to imply otherwise. But, the modern American public at large act like the president is some grand arbiter of getting laws passed single-handedly. Hell, we have tons of people that chalk up the entire state of the economy on a single person every election cycle, it’s craziness.
Anyway, my point is that anyone that’s actually paying attention in good faith knows it’s almost entirely the GOP blocking healthcare reform. But, as we’ve especially learned these last 10+ years, many Americans don’t pay attention to reality.

The majority of Americans are very fed up with our healthcare, and Democrats haven’t done much to fix it this administration either (not entirely their fault, we have a gridlocked Congress and Senate, after all). It’s still better than ICE, as that also creates waste and actively pollutes, but it’s still notable and hopefully over time those negative byproduct can also be eliminated/significantly reduced.

Yeah, I had another comment where I discovered the number is much higher (1 in 208, roughly). I’m not great at ratios, so 1 in 1200 didn’t sound that rare, especially if you’re in areas with a lower LGBT+ demographic. In hindsight, it makes more sense, as I know a few trans people myself and my city isn’t even that large.
1/1200 is .000833… So .08%. That’s not how the calculations for finding X in Y people work.
And the source I linked specifically says 1.6 million people in the US aged 13+ identify as trans, which is 0.48% of the 333.3 million people in the US.
We were both wrong, it’s approximately 1 in 208 people. 333,300,000 / 1,600,000 = ~208.
Being three standard deviations above average isn’t that rare, about 1 in 1200, about the same rate as people who transition oddly enough, so it’s a good comparison.

I guess this may be more of glass half full/glass half empty thing for me. Gaining 1 senate seat–resulting in essentially a 50/50 split since 2 independent seats caucus with the Dems–and losing the House seems like a narrow victory to me.
But you’re right, many feared the 2022 elections would be much worse for the Dems and that didn’t happen, fortunately.
They barely squeaked by in 2022. And in the meantime, several GOP states have been hard at work with setting laws that make flipping those states next to impossible with little to no recourse and accountability for shady incidents.

That’s not how unemployment numbers work. They (the government) only count the amount of work eligible adults (i.e. 18+, legal/documented persons) who are actively seeking employment It would be silly to include babies and school-aged children in their statistics for employment, heh. But it also leaves out a large number of adults who have simply given up looking for work. I think it also doesn’t include those who have been actively seeking employment longer than a certain amount of time, but I don’t fully recall.

Lots of economists have long criticized it for being way too broad of a stat that isn’t inclusive enough. I remember my macro econ professor in college going in tangents about it and it kind of surprised me how many people it doesn’t include.
Anyway, back to the main point: It isn’t calculating 4% of the entire US population.
I don’t think Pokemon is first-party since that IP and the dev studios fall under The Pokemon Company, whereas games like Mario and Zelda are developed by studios within Nintendo itself. I could be wrong.
