  • Thank you for the clarification, and the additional images clearly illustrates the scene. But that’s the catch with memes, they are only useful when everyone is in on the joke or if they are self explanatory like the no/yes drake meme—I’ve never seen the Hotline Bling music video, but it’s not really required.

To return to that original comment, I agree. Everyone needs to know how to fish. Not just cast the rod, but where the fish are too.

I’ve made some comments in another post about the protests going on in LA. I’m all for protesting, but my concern is the location. I think a lot of people got fixated on the inconvenience it put on the average person by blocking random intersections, and I agree, because I think they are fishing in the wrong spot. The energy they have is great. They have a fishing rod!! But to make that energy count in this particular fight, it needs to be—in my opinion—focused on people in power. For example, the front yard of a Senator. Or even just a government building.

To return to a gun reference, they’re using a Blunderbuss as a sniper rifle.

  • That was then. This is now. Things change, we need to match the crazy. I’m all for doing things like protesting, but that should be the bare minimum action.

It’s fine to inconvenience people, but they have to be the right people. This needed to happen in 2016. We are over 8 years left to the party.

To me, there’s no more effort involved by moving the protest to a more effective location. If you’re involved with any of these protests, please suggest other locations for a more meaningful message. The senator has a house… that’s a good spot. Governor, mayor, judges… those are good spots. They need to be afraid.
