111·11 months agohow the baby’s body is going to chage fast in the first week?
You bet, it might be going from not existing to existing, that is some change.
It is really awkward, but it is due to a practicality, it is very easy to pinpoint last menstruation, but very hard to know when conception happened.

5·1 year agoI don’t mind gullible. I think that is just part of his persona.
What I mind is that he is a dishonest and malicious manipulator.
It became obvious in his political commentary that he was subjective on purpose with an agenda, that means he is being paid one way or another.
When he finally endorsed Trump, it became undeniable.

politics @lemmy.world•Anti-Trump MeidasTouch dethrones mighty Joe Rogan as top podcast in US
4·1 year agoI am in the same boat.
Joe Rogan was a good interviewer, he is humble and unassuming and gives enough space to the guest to share. If you are into the guest, then you will enjoy it, I really enjoyed his interview on Tarantino and a few others.
It is also nice when he interviews comedians, since you can see the camaraderie and some of them are really funny, like Chapelle, Burr or CK. It is very interesting to listen to them if they are given space.
I stopped to listen when it became obvious that he is monetizing or capitalizing all the audience he has gained over the years. He is not a neutral commentator, he is a pundit with an agenda and he is making bank on it. That has degraded the image I had of him to the image I have of people as O’Reilly or the Bow-Tie guy.
It is a shame but I will not listen to anything from his show on principle.

politics @lemmy.world•‘Brazen gaslighting’: J.D. Vance slammed for telling Dems ‘tone down the rhetoric’
14·2 years agoThink of it as the society being the victim. The clearest example is when Trump started talking about Fake News. The goal is to devoid words of meaning, to reason based only on emotional attachment, to eliminate critical thinking. This guy follows the same strategy.
Below a definition of gaslighting, I think it applies pretty well to the kind of society these people are leaving behind:
Examples of gaslighting behaviors are denying something the other person knows is true, spreading rumors about them, and blaming the victim. The mental health impact of gaslighting includes feelings of powerlessness, confusion, isolation, disorientation, and low self-esteem

Which is a longer way of saying that she won, he is contradicting himself.

71·2 years agoCompletely unqualified suggestion here but,
have you tried going for a run when you wake up at the middle of the night?
I was having the problem of waking up at 3am and unable to fall sleep, I started to embrace it, prepare some coffee, stretch a bit and then get out to run to a completely deserted city.
Running is very therapeutic, when you get intrusive thoughts, you just squeeze further running until your brain cannot focus on other thing than breathing.
I found a time-frame of therapy that only belongs to me and it has also helped me with the sleeping problems.
I am not qualified or anything and I don’t want to diminish your problem, but if it could help I just wanted to let it out.
Cheers.
