Came here to say pretty much the same thing. I basically already host “disroot” services for myself.

I run it with Yunohost.

Call your local general.

The military ain’t gonna “step in”. The only way that could possibly happen is if we have major and sustained civil demonstrations in our cities. Even then, it may take mass civilian casualties before the military intervenes.

People are too willing to project all their hopes onto politicians, and always end up disappointed.

VPS is not that much, especially if you aren’t storing a ton of media. Digital Ocean and Hetzner are good places to look. This will also prevent some networking headaches you’re likely to have hosting it “on prem”.
If part of your reason for doing this is to involve the kids in the process, then it’s better to do it locally. Someone in the org has or can find an unused desktop computer that you guys can have fun with for pretty much zero cost. You will probably have trouble trying to connect to it from outside your network though.

Share some tips for that?

I can think of few things more boring than databases. I just want my files synced and stored.

Love my Navidrome server, though I use Substreamer on Android since it’s “free” and free.

Clearly the decades of Israeli/US propaganda against Hamas has been falling down. Truthfully, I’m pretty happy with the 60%, and expect more people will continue to open their eyes.

No, you shouldn’t be surprised that people easily fall for transparent propaganda. We all do it, including you. This isn’t exactly new, and neither are the solutions. We are going to require political candidates who communicate believable plans to actually improve peoples’ lives. Since we lack that, we get candidates like Trump who make believable plans to harm political enemies.

Just remember that from where they’re standing, even the “social policies” haven’t helped them that much. I wonder what the voter turnout is like in WVa.

Wtf is wrong with the other 40%?

They voted for him as a kind of “fuck you” to the system that’s been fucking them over for so long. So many people voted for him because he seemed to be from outside of that system. I personally know people that would have voted for Bernie instead, because he was also a kind of outsider from our “normal” politicians.

Probably harder to find examples where they wouldn’t.
I don’t mean it as a gotcha. It’s meant to make you reconsider what I see as an unhelpful way of looking at people. If you think in terms of averages instead of in terms of people, I think you lose sight of what you’re trying to achieve. You can think in terms of average (or common) problems people have, and speak to those.

Wonder what he thinks of all the US/Israeli dual citizens, including all the US citizens serving in the IOF.

It would be an opportunity for “bipartisanship”.
I couldn’t find any “about” info anywhere.
