It’s all fucking power plays. They get it, but giving their base what they want means taking a step back and these ghouls want the power and money more than they want a healthy republic.
The current Democrats have the same morals as the current GOP, it’s only the fact their base would totally rebel that keeps them from sucking Trump’s toes.
I am on nextdoor and at least once a week there’s a post about Seattle’s mayor turning off the flock cameras and it’s inevitably flooded by Republicans screaming and shouting that she wants there to be more murder. These people have no critical thinking skills and just parrot anything whatever media station they chose says.
They always disappear when I point out the cameras have been hacked, Leo’s nationwide can access, they’ve been caught stalking with the cameras, they can listen in on conversations through a cracked window, and we have no guarantees the data won’t be fed to AI. Guess I can add precise location tracking through phones to the list too.

My CEO (whom I don’t consider a particularly good or bad CEO) spent a day playing with AI then when asked if he’d sign the company up with the service he literally laughed in their faces and said it’s useless. I was honestly shocked because he’s totally into buzzword and popular crap. Gained a lot of respect for him that day.
I print toys for my kids, small pieces to fix things and not much else. While I’ve got nothing to hide, but still find this unnecessarily invasive.
Yup, that’s why I said a part of me. The other part understands that ultimately it would be twisted and used as a barrier against “the undesirables.”
Education is definitely a great weapon to combat the oligarchs manipulation but we’re not even funding it correctly currently in the US. It’ll take generations to rightsize and we’d still be dealing with a large amount of stupid people who no amount of education would help.
This is why a large part of me wishes you had to pass some kind of baseline intelligence test to vote. I regularly go on nextdoor to discuss local politics and basically every argument with a conservative feels like arguing with a mentally handicapped person. They only read headlines and aren’t smart enough to question their sources of information.
Recently they were up in arms because the conservative paper claimed the mayor’s office wasn’t being transparent. Actually reading the article it says the reporter requested an interview on the spot and halfway through it an assistant told the mayor they need to move on. Not even noteworthy but it was enough to get the trolls riled up
It’s like this everywhere. Blue cities get shit on by “local” (owned by a mega giant corporation) news, the dummies who live outside of the city go “the Democrat morons can’t do anything right!” Vote against the city’s interests, then line up for a handout as that same city funds the construction of schools and roads for their portion of the state.
That little floating copilot icon in excel is the devil’s work. I’m not a violent person but whoever came up with that should be flogged (IDK what flogging is but it sounds appropriate lol).
The amount of consumers who get a chub for overpaying is way too high. “Look at how much money I have! I can pay $3000 for a $400 product and not bat an eye!” Absolute schmucks.
The fact they don’t think they’re a genius and know their limits suggests they’re probably smarter than average. I’ve found the dumbest people have an unshakable confidence they’re always correct.
We keep entering conflicts with no clear objective because our leadership lies about our reasons for entering the conflict. In both cases we had no hard evidence they were even continuing development of nuclear weapons.
We defeated their military and occupied their countries, but winning implies completing an objective successfully. When we exited Afghanistan the Taliban instantly took control. They completed their objective, they won the war.
Just make it for death row inmates only. Other than that it should just be handled by the courts.

To cool the iss they’re exchanging heat into water pumping to ammonia exchangers then radiated through infrared. The radiators for a space data center would need to be prohibitively massive as I understand it.
People with actual reasoning and intellect will see these numskulls for what they are. Unfortunately the average person has very little reasoning or intellect. The amount of my peers who haven’t opened a book since school ended is too damned high.
100% accurate. I ran a family owned grocery and the owners never shut up about payroll. As soon as I started managing a department it was “you’re overstaffed” every flipping week. I explained my plan to use the extra hours to have the employees trained on how to make more prepared food instead of buying the premade junk. They complained and complained until the end of the second month when my numbers for prepared food in that single month grossed enough to pay for the extra staff need for over half the year.
They still complained I was overstaffed.
Having tried a game with AI NPCs, they’re fucking awful. I don’t want to sit there and have a conversation with irrelevant individuals. Give me that concise “here’s your mission and reward.”
An AI companion who can converse, comment and learn may be cool, but I definitely don’t want anything like what I’ve seen.
The modern consumer has a spine made from jello. They’ve had company after company fuck them over but rather than slightly inconvenience themselves to find an alternative or do without, they’ll just bend over and get fucked.
People have forgotten that they’re the power and companies can be told to go eat shit.
