Holy shit, Peter David wrote some of my favorite Star Trek novelizations. In 1997, I moved to a new area just before my junior year of high school. My new school was massive and I was an introvert who wasn’t great at making friends. But somehow I ended up hanging out with a few fellow Star Trek fans, who introduced me to his new series, Star Trek: New Frontier (thank you Regina!). It got me through the rest of high school!

No, I’m not defending Bill Maher by any stretch! I can’t stand that guy and I do generally like Larry David. I haven’t read what Larry David wrote so I can’t really speak to it. I just think it’s bizarre that Bill Maher is pulling the “6 million dead Jews” thing when he himself is Jewish, plus it’s a moronic cheap shot against a guy who is widely recognized as a Jewish American comedy icon.

Bill Maher is Jewish via his mother but strangely was raised Catholic.

The thing is, my in-laws have plenty of money in the bank, plus two adult children who are very successful and would help them out if needed, no questions asked. It’s not entirely rational - I think it’s the uncertainty more than anything that has them scared. Which really sucks. :(
