I thot nothing will b accomplished when there was a chance Harris could have won but now it is in the worse category.

US doesn’t have a centrist or left leaning party. It is either centre right or a far right party. If a party is only counting the right wing vote it is but obvious that a far right would be much more appealing than a centre right.
That leaves the centrist and left leaning populace without a voice. People can berate them for not choosing a right wing party to avoid far right getting power. But that just glosses over the fact that there is no representation of them in either direction.
Why is no one discussing Dems have lost the senate and given a bigger majority in the house to Republicans. Even without Trump they are bound to control house and the senate.
Stand by for nothing happening for the next 2 years or worse.
Finally some positive words now for acting on it, if she gets a chance.
In a presidential democracy she has all the power if she wants it.
Sure when that strikes my fancy, for now I will pass.
How different would he be from all the dictators and despots US has propped up elsewhere in the world. World will still turn, sun will still rise. All dictators die, all dictatorship ends. This is not end of the world.
Gaza is not on ballot I agree. But trying to convince people who don’t wish to participate in a genocide by telling them that their concerns don’t matter is wrong.
Israel has declared if not by words surely by actions that they won’t stop as long as Palestine remains.
This is the correct reason and the reason why the genocide will continue no matter who is elected.
Aipac has bought enough of american politicians that it has rendered votes worthless.
People should vote on matters other than this for with any outcome US sponsored genocide is inevitable.
Which one should you prefer slowly genocide by starvation, diseases.
Or
Fast genocide by increased bombing and worse weapons.
I don’t think this is a choice anyone would want to choose from.
Anger amongst them is understandable and they should not be berated to make a choice they wish to make.
Depends if she goes behind Israeli lobby.
What does it mean to not be like him?
That is the rhetoric that is prevalent on lemmy.
Democrats credentials for presidency - they are not Trump.
Edit - In any other election cycle this is a legitimate question.
What are you bringing to the table? What is your policy position?
For both the parties.
Just because this election only party is eligible to represent doesnt mean that the questions shouldn’t be asked. Browbeating undecided voters for the questions is wrong and might give the result no one wants.
Yes beyond a limit that property would be unrentable due to high rent. Then since the property owner still would have to pay taxes on the property he might sell it.
That is if the law is properly worded and properly applied.
I don’t think government will let the company fold. The stock will go up not in the short term but over 10-15 years it will surely fly.
Having said than enron is still in the back of the mind.
Now would be the best time to do it
They are giant space pen**es
Him being worse doesn’t make Harris good, she is just not that bad.
For people voting on that basis might decide immediate death would be better than definite death after prolonged suffering. That makes him better.
Gaza is a foolish hill to die on and make a choice on. Nothing you do or choose is going to make a difference.
He’s also far, far worse on every other issue I can think of, such as those directly impacting Americans.
He is no different than all the despots and dictators America has exported. He is no different than the founding fathers.
For Palestinians he is slightly worse if not the same. So if that is the criteria for the choice, there is insignificant difference between them.
The difference might be to be killed in a few days (Trump) vs a few weeks to months (Harris).
There you go showing data that refutes popular position. Harris lost because people didn’t vote for her, not that people did vote for the orange man.
