I feel like this article could be 1 sentence. Windows 11 is a piece of shit so people (including your IT department) don’t want to upgrade, and those that would just accept the upgrade are frequently limited by perfectly good machines which aren’t compatible.
Does Gen Z actually have a tech savvy reputation? I was under the impression that the last few generations aren’t that great with computers as they more grew up with mature technology. It is the Gen X and Millennials that are more digital native while having used computers where advanced skills were required.
That makes no sense. The 24MP RAW files from my camera at 25MB, no way a PNG or JPEG of a 4K (8MP) monitor are anywhere close to that big.
That is half the reason I have it disabled on my desktop. The other half being that the BIOS updates never fixed the fTPM stuttering issues for my computer (both using the 3700X and 5800X) so the computer is unusable with it turned on.
I mean it is shitty still, but people with an old device and an account already are unaffected, plus the old devices like the one I have is completely operable offline. I’ve not connected it to WiFi except when I first got it to check the app out.

The way I interpret what he is suggesting is that they are planning on going after Patreon type websites that provide a private paid for space for a creator’s supporters. It’s unlikely, but they could also pretty easily go after OF to keep that traffic on site.
QD-OLED was what finally got me to upgrade from my old Plasma TV a couple years ago. My only regret was not waiting a few months longer to get the really good sales on the S95B. I’m now buying a QD-OLED monitor for my computer because I like the TV so much.
My space is pretty bright (floor to ceiling west facing windows to the side of my TV) and it is mostly fine, even in the afternoon when I get direct sunlight with only some lighly diffusing blinds. You are better off blocking as much light as possible no matter the TV you have though as dark areas will reflect the surroundings on every glossy TV.
That isn’t really true though, any vampire currents or leaving it only partially charged can leave it in a state where it reaches the cutoff voltage when you aren’t using it. Then self-discharge takes it under the limit of the charging circuit and the device never works again.
With a device that can run off AA or AAA cells, you can use NiMH (NiCd has zero place today) and remove the batteries when you are done and put them back in the pool of other cells you use. By the nature of Li-ion, as soon as that cell is made it has a limited lifetime until it no longer works just due to reactions that happen within the cell, which means any infrequently used item that might last for decades otherwise now has a lifetime of maybe 5-10 years.
I disgree. I have plenty of items around the house that I might only need a few times per year where a standard alkaline or NiMH cell is ideal because I can pop one in when I need it. If the Li-on cell discharges when I don’t use it for a period of time then it may not charge anymore and the device is now garbage.
Logitech pissed me off years ago when they didn’t honour a warranty because I bought a flawed product before they extended the warranty on them.
I have not even been tempted by their products because there are so many other peripheral manufacturers out there that put out great products.
As someone that worked in a battery lab for a short period of time I agree. These are exactly the types of questions that need to be asked for any battery related technology article (not just China, other institutions around the world do this as well)

That isn’t true, for example LTT doesn’t get seeded Apple products anymore because of what they have said about Apple. NVidia has also been caught revoking early access to products to some outlets because they were unhappy about reporting as well.
I had called out the bullshit about devices being less durable if you make them more repairable on MKBHDs video, but of course it got lost in the comments. Apple just refuses to make the compromises that would allow for durable and repairable devices. One major downside of hybrid working really is that if you are having a meeting where even a single person is not there, then the entire meeting may as well be a video call. If you are on a video call, then why do you need to be in the office for it?
At my job we work with physical objects, so being in office is a requirement at least part of the time, but if I’m just going to be in meetings for most of the day, there is no way I’m going into the office just to sit on video calls all day.
Considering that HP is the other choice that most businesses consider, I’d take the Dell 100% of the time. HP’s laptops are complete and utter trash.
If you see the video there is no way a battery behaves like that, even if you drive a nail into them they more rocket flames than explode (I used to work in a battery lab).
I should clarify, typical cells won’t explode, you could defeat safety features for pressure release in a can cell but at that effort they would have just added something more energetic.
