I think (or at least hope) what youre trying to say is “immigration” or “the thought of having many foreign people in your country” is scary, not the immigrants themselves.

Oh but you need to consider the overall spending on healthcare, not per-capita. That would be around 100-10000 times more than any other cointry. /s
Also I hope that its clear that spending money on healthcare while not providing healthcare does not make it any better.

I dont understand how anyone could criticize a per-capita statistic. It is completely logical to compare coutries by size. Or if not, we need to start talking about China being number one in almost everything in the world. Just having many people who contribute relatively little doesnt make your country more generous.

This isnt reddit, people cant take jokes here /s

Its a similar situation. You ‘cant do anything about anything’ and handing out band-aids is ‘better than nothing’. Would ‘giving someone a band-aid is a good thing’ be your stance in that situation or would you find it rather inappropriate?

Technically youre right, but would you say the same if Putin started handing out band-aids to ukrainians who just lost their families?

Not sure if I would call having multiple assassination attempts on you and then getting stabbed being lucky xD

That was the point and I think you know it.
Play this argument in your head: ‘You need calories to survive’ - ‘You can get calories from concrete and sand’
In that situation, would you seriously argue that those actually contain nutrients at 0.0001 kcal per 100g? This was not very far from that.

Pretty sure everyone else understood the meaning behind the sentence ‘you can get protein from lettuce and apples’. You need a certain amount of daily protein intake for a healthy diet and the comment implied you can get those from lettuce and apples. It is technically kinda true if you take it literally, but eating 5kg of lettuce is not practical.
Free speech doesnt mean you can say whatever you want without consequences. People have the right not to be insulted, you cant violate that with your free speech. Pretty sure insulting anyone is illegal (at least here in Germany it is, I would be surprised if it isnt in the US), it usually cant be enforced immediately though.

I think you misunderstood what you are replying to. Also you misunderstood the placebo effect (or maybe you think 50/50 placebo control group studies are the only application)
How are people playing this down so much? How would getting piss drunk once a week not be heavy drinking? Ive been drinking that much in uni, not as an adult. Maybe once every few months but not regularly.
