It leads to apathetic voters too, democrats who dont bother voting because they figure it won’t change anything.

The dems have an identity crisis, they are so aggravatingly centrist in an attempt to swing votes, that they’ve become incredibly passive in their approach. Republicans are determined to completely restructure America according to their ideology. Dems are so politically inclusive in their approach, trying to cater to “far left”, left, centrist AND slight right conservative that they are paralyzed concerning policy. The very best thing they can do is a 5% tax cut for the working class? Seriously?

I think if they went further left with candidates like Bernie, existing dems would be much more compelled to go out and vote. Right now they have zero commitment, almost none of Biden’s policies came to fruition.

  • I think Harris and Walz were good candidates but their pitch was simply unappealing. The average american has been hurting bad the last 4 years. Harris’ pitch was to maintain the degrading status-quo while trump promised to do SOMETHING. Whether or not that something is successful doesn’t matter, people are sick of slowly getting crushed by costs of living.

  • On top of that, dems have done a load of jack shit in power, even with a majority for half of the last term. Most of the policies Biden promised never came to fruition. Just sitting back and slowly letting the people shrivel. Advertising themselves as “maintaining the status-quo” isn’t appealing for the average voter. As a Harris voter, I say that dem voters have an apathy problem.

Yeah, I think a lot of dem voters have grown really apathetic. Democrat leaders hardly do anything so there’s a sense of pointlessness. It feels like their pitch is “we’re gonna fix everything by doing nothing! Trust us guys it’s gonna work this time!”. Trump says a bunch of bat shit crazy stuff that at least makes seem hes committed. I think that’s the key here.

I voted for Harris but I can’t help but feel democrats did this to themselves. We’ve held a decent amount of power over the last 20 years but have done shockingly little. Just slowly letting our country dry and shrivel, leaving people increasingly desperate. Times like these make people seek change, ANY CHANGE, including voting for a dictator. Status-quo politics will fail every time during times like these. Who wants to die slowly?

All authoritarian countries are born from desperation. Chinese communist party, Nazi Germany, the USSR, Iran, North Korea and soon America.

  • Its been scary seeing a massive, anti-ukrainian conservative wave after the Ukraine invasion. I was shocked seeing it happen in Europe, especially with Italy Slovakia, and with Hungary and Turkey incumbents somehow staying in power despite economic catastrophes. Now I am horrified to see it has spread to America.

I’ve been watching the war closely and was hoping that Ukraine could win after increased aid after the election, but it looks like its going to dry up. This reminds me of pro-Hitler Americans during WW2. Shouting “America first!” And clamoring to cut aid to Britain and the USSR.

Again we see “America first!” While cutting support to Europe, Ukraine, Korea, Japan, and everyone else, except Israel (funny how that works?). I dont think there was any time “america first” wasn’t a fascist dog whistle.

I am now scared the Ukraine war will be akin to the Polish uprising during Nazi occupation. A united, determined people, brave enough to frighten the devil, crushed by overwhelming ignorance and fascism.

Thats why I feel so bad for that poster recently that said ai was the only friend he had and liked. He never understood what a friendship is. They aren’t just yes-men that approve of every single decision and beliefs. Their individuality and unique opinions keep your judgment clear and offer you different perspectives on matters.
