Given the unique circumstance of an unpopular former incumbent running despite losing reelection, and the current incumbent not running, not to mention how regressive the former incumbents policies are… sort of a perfect storm of circumstances gave Democrats this advantage and they are running with it. The cool thing is that they realized it.

Honestly, that’s the most surprising thing to me. I’m so used to seeing the democrats have amazing opportunities and completely and totally fail to see them. It would be comical if it didn’t have such dire consequences. It’s like a reverse Mr. Magoo, everything looks safe, but they’re constantly stepping on rakes and walking off ledges and just missing that suitcase full of cash. It’s absurd.

This time, though, it’s like they actually see the path forward and they’re taking it. It’s wild.

Yep, the Clintonian “Third-Way” Democrats are largely retiring or dying, and the people taking over the party are actually willing to fight. Add to that the fact that the Republicans have no viable post-Trump path (the most recent primaries were largely about finding a Trump successor and they failed miserably) and I’m thinking that this election could mark a major turning point in American politics.

I’m hoping Texas votes for Kamala. That’d be the grave of every current fascist movement in America, and the GOP as a conservative platform.
