We can now hold the line, and he won’t get two, new, young SCOTUS Justices. That’s not nothing, but don’t expect Universal Healthcare or an end to the executive orders.
In two years we should oust the “centrist” Dems, even the ones we like, and replace them with the “radical left” DSA candidates. I’ll vote to replace Melanie Stansbury if a viable DSA candidate rises to challenge her. Fear of “splitting the vote” be damned.

None of them care about “equitable representation” for us, they care about winning, and retaining power.
We’re in a stalemate for two years. That’s the best we could hope for, and that’s what we got. Billionaires are safe and always will be, Dems like money and power too, and power corrupts no matter which color banner they stand under for elections.
One way to mitigate corruption and cronyism is term limits for Congress.
Meh. He won’t miss the money, he probably regrets not doubling it, if anything. Also, he knew he was gambling by the fact he spent them money in the first place. He didn’t put in anything he couldn’t easily afford to lose, which really should make we never-gonna-be-billionaires think a bit.

If the purpose is to “explore” Mars, it’s cheaper, faster, and much more efficient to continue to send robots, which are getting better and better. The one job AI should take from humans.
There’s no good reason to send fragile humans into such a hostile environment, beyond just saying we did it--a sort of pride.
Terraforming Mars is several hundred years away, and may not even be possible, without a geomagnetic field.
It’s a bit surprising how many CEO’s express disdain for their users and employees.
When employees are reduced to an “input resource” number on a spreadsheet, and they sit insulated from user complaints, and likely surround themselves with sycophants, I suppose it’s inevitable.
Power corrupts, you can see it all around us once you start looking.
For the consumer, convenience, but mostly status. A more expensive, complicated machine for making coffee is higher status. Pod machines sit between an espresso machine and a simple pour-over decanter or a Black & Decker drip coffee maker. Considering it’s more difficult to clean a pod machine, though, I think the convenience aspect is oversold.
Microplastic enters our food throughout processing, not just from the containers we buy them in, and not even primarily by that.
If you want to reduce microplastics in your food, ideally grow it yourself, or buy minimally processed foods. The more machines a food product, and it’s separate ingredients, pass through before it gets to you, the more microplastics it will have in it. Simple as.

If it can be done, they will do it. Power is unconstrained by ethics, empathy, or morality. Never assume that anyone in power shares these traits with the rest of us, they do not.
The only thing that constrains power is enforced laws with teeth.
