Gotta get past the Grand Jury first, fucko. Seems they’ve been shottin’ ya down lately because we’re not all idiots, and everything coming from you is lies and vengeance.

Grand juries are only needed for certain thresholds of crime (eg, felonies). So it is possible to charge them with something smaller. Still, would need to go through that process, which is far harder of a threshold to reach

I skimmed through another article on the topic and just checked this one too. No mention of felony or grand jury from a quick Ctrl+F to be sure. Only that the extent of the charges are not known.

          So… What’d I miss?

At this point, all they’re looking at for Comey is, “lying to Congress”. While that is a crime, it’s extremely difficult to prove, since you need to show evidence that the person knew that what they said was a lie. In most cases, you can dodge that bullet by simply claiming that you “told the truth, to the beat of your knowledge at the time”. And poof…no more charges.

That’s not the point of this chain. The point is that they will need to convene a Grand Jury to secure said indictment. Six times now Grand Juries have failed to do so because people know exactly what this is, and they aren’t going along with it. Since this relates to Congress, they’ll have to convene in DC, and nobody there is having this bullshit. I will be shocked if they manage it.

Six times doesn’t seem all that much, honestly. Is that six out of six, or six wins we can hold dear despite others going through?

6/6 for obvious Trump bullshit, yes. Like DOJ cronies trying to bring charges against the sandwich thrower, some others that yelled at Trump or Ice…etc. all declined to prosecute.

For those in the legal profession, failing to get a single grand jury indictment is a serious embarrassment.

Embarrassing enough that in the past it nearly always resulted in them being fired/resigning.

Six failures to indict is unbelievably unheard of. It shows so much incompetence that it’s hard to comprehend.
