His only real liability is that right wing media has convinced Midwestern voters that California is a post apocalyptic hell hole.
Gavin Newsom is fine, but not nearly as good as Biden or even his predecessor as Governor of CA. Jerry Brown was a much better governor.
Gavin Newsom will do what voters want, but mainly because it makes him feel powerful. I remember seeing a new statue on Market Street in San Francisco when he was mayor; it had the artist’s name in little tiny letters and “GAVIN NEWSOM” in big letters.
