President Donald Trump will join hundreds of generals summoned to Virginia on short notice by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, adding new security concerns.

Trump said he would run this country like a business and he sure is proving it.

Two unqualified buffoons in charge and doing buffoonish things while focusing on appearance over substance telling the most qualified people that they’re doing their jobs wrong.

Sounds like pretty much every job I’ve ever had.

Running it like a business is what got the Challenger and Columbia astronauts killed.

I want it run like a fucking engineer or scientist.

But worst of all, he’s running it like he did when he bankrupted his 6 other fucking businesses.

Yeah, those people that think having a businessman running the country would be better are either business owners themselves, or have never actually worked in a business.

Running a business like a business is pointlessly destructive and long term stupid

When Boeing was run like an engineering club with a sales department, they were legendary. Now they’re run like a business.

Prioritizing short term profit when running s business is destructive and long term stupid for the business. But some people make a lot of money by buying companies and running them into the ground, so I don’t think it’s technically “pointless.”

Back when Boeing was ran by engineers, you had to crash the plane yourself. It took running the company like a business to come up with the Innovation that automated that

Too many decades of anti-left propaganda has left people with the crazy idea that the only model for anything is a profit-making business.

Sounds about right … and they’ll keep giving everyone the runaround until the money dries up … then they’ll all scatter like cockroaches and leave everyone else holding the bag … an empty bag … a very, very empty bag.

This is about finding dissent. Anyone who isn’t willing to use force against political opponents will be identified.

Saddam Hussein did a similar thing when he took power. I dont think Trump can execute them without having a problem, so this will be interesting. If he fires a bunch of generals, this could get weird fast.

Where are all of the intelligence agents and generals going/going to go after getting ousted?

These are the people who have the knowledge and means to stop this shit, they should be organizing it.

Yep there’s a few ways this could go and none are really great. Either the military bends the knee and any who opposed are forced out. Or there’s a full on military coup. Or best case it’s purely about ego that trump needs to yell at a room full of generals.

I think closer to the later. These aren’t guys that enlisted last year, or after the election. They are career guys, and have worked with a few presidents i imagine.

I remember hearing chatter about the deep state, and I’ll tell you what, Im glad that the power in our government is so diffuse. Career people are invested in their work for the long run.

While true, the military has been reorganized under this president. Removing anyone that wasn’t a white man and renaming anything that wasn’t a white man, that was the first steps of removing potential dissent. It doesn’t need to be a huge number of sycophants, but a few of them could make things very bad for us.

I agree that they’re trying to find those that will refuse an unlawful or unconstitutional order.

Is it a bit weird that Hegseth kinda already did this though?

I have no idea how the military works.

I’m imagining a conference full of the top brass. They mostly know each other or “of” each other in a loose network. They would already know why they’ve been summoned and where they stand, but also a fair guess as to where the group splits on this issue.

I also dont know much about how it works, but I do know the military isn’t all MAGA. He’s tried to get rid of people all throughout the government if they show signs of disloyal. He’s reached into areas the president never has before, and this might be the next. I wonder how a general reacts to that.

Here’s hoping at least one of those generals acts on their oath to defend the constitution from domestic threats.

The champaign is ready, but so is my expectation for disappointment.

All top military brass and potus in one location, brilliant. Both potus and vp were in the same place last week in an open stadium and nothing happened, so I guess they decided to up the ante. What morons.

Definitely Iran, for one. Retaliation for him assassinating their General Soleimani, and they could get all our generals at the same time. And probably a few other countries have their reasons as well but that’s the biggest one that comes to mind atm.

Only makes sense. I doubt all those suckers and loosers could know what to do without him.

Trump’s a real war-hero after all. He’s prevented 9 wars this year alone. Just look him, you don’t a well rounded build like his without some serious work.

So he is going to take the oath on him personally? Or is it about them having to kiss his ring (or worse) as part of the ceremony?
